- Category I (minimum) — 20 hours
- Anti-oppressive social work practice (race, culture, equity, implicit bias, etc.) — 3 hours
- Ethics and professional conduct — 3 hours
- General CE — 14 hours
Important Information
Social workers in Maryland need to complete a total of 40 hours of continuing education every two years, including 20 hours of Category I (minimum), three hours of Anti-oppressive social work practice (race, culture, equity, implicit bias, etc.), and three hours of Ethics and professional conduct; the rest can be general CE of your choosing.
Renewal periods in Maryland run two years and end on October 31 for every licensee. Complete all required hours before that date.
